Notice of Deadline to File Application for Place on Ballot in English and Spanish

Directors Election - Saturday, May 4, 2024

Varner Creek Utility District has three (2) positions on the ballot in the May 4, 2024 General Election. Qualifications to apply for a place on the ballot are defined by the Texas Water Code (full code can be found at https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/SDocs/WATERCODE.pdf.)

Texas Water Code Sec. 54.102. QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIRECTORS. To be qualified to serve as a Director, a person shall be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the District or be a qualified voter within the District.

Important Dates for May 4, 2024 Election

Wednesday, January 17, 2024 - First day to file for a place on the ballot. Applications may be picked up at the office of the District Administrator:

1st Capital Business Services, 310 E. Brazos, West Columbia, Texas.

Friday, February 16, 2024 - Last day to file for a place on the ballot.

Important: Incomplete applications will be rejected. A complete application includes a signed, notarized application; a signed Form CFCP; and a signed Form CTA. Links for all required documents are at the bottom of this page.

Thursday, April 4, 2024 - Last day to register to vote.

Monday, April 22, 2024 - First day of early voting by personal appearance.

Tuesday, April 20, 2024 - Last day of early voting by personal appearance.

Saturday, May 4, 2024 - Election Day
