Directors Election - Saturday, May 2, 2026
Varner Creek Utility District has three (3) positions on the ballot in the May 2, 2026 General Election. Qualifications to apply for a place on the ballot are defined by the Texas Water Code (full code can be found at https://statutes.capitol.texas.gov/Docs/SDocs/WATERCODE.pdf.)
Texas Water Code Sec. 54.102. QUALIFICATIONS FOR DIRECTORS. To be qualified to serve as a Director, a person shall be at least 18 years old, a resident citizen of the State of Texas, and either own land subject to taxation in the District or be a qualified voter within the District.

2026 Election Information:
Election Day- Saturday May 2, 2026
First day to apply for ballot: Thursday, January 1, 2026
First day to apply for a ballot by mail using Application for a Ballot by Mail (ABBM) or Federal Postcard Application (FPCA).: Thursday, January 1, 2026.
Last day to file an Application for a place on the general ballot Friday February 13, 2026 with February 17, 2026 the final date for "Write-in Candidates".
Last Day to Register to Vote for May 2nd election: Thursday April 2, 2026
First Day of Early Voting for May 2, 2026 election, Monday April 20, 2026*
Last Day to Apply for Ballot by Mail (Received, not Postmarked) Monday April 20,2026.
Last Day of Early Voting Tuesday April 28, 2026
Last day to Receive Ballot by Mail Monday May 2, 2026 (Election Day) at 7:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is not postmarked, OR Monday May 4, 2026 (next business day after Election Day) at 5:00 p.m. if carrier envelope is postmarked by 7:00 p.m. at the location of the election on Election Day (unless overseas or military voter deadlines apply)
